The Polymetallic Holding Group Seligdar (hereinafter referred to as the "Holding Group" or "Seligdar") will become one of the participants in the development of the deep-water port of Nayba in northern Yakutia.

The implementation of the project is aimed at further work on the development of the Kyuchus gold deposit, one of the largest in Russia. An agreement on the implementation of the first stage of the project for the construction of the deep-water port of Nayba with the aim of developing the transport infrastructure of the Arctic zone of Yakutia was signed at the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok.

The signing ceremony was attended by the Head of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Aysen Nikolaev; the founder of Seligdar PJSC, Konstantin Beirit; the Chief Executive Officer of Taymyr Invest, Marat Tyakin; and the Chief Executive Officer of the Corporation for the Development of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Vasiliy Yefimov.

"The construction of the deep-water port of Nayba is one of the key projects for the development of the republic's Arctic coast, directly linked to the master plan for the Tiksi – Nayba agglomeration, developed on the instructions of the President of Russia, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. The development of a modern port and associated infrastructure will create conditions for the sustainable socio-economic development of the Arctic districts, and will also provide reliable logistics for the Kyuchus industrial cluster."

The parties intend to jointly develop the technical, organisational, financial and legal models for the port's construction, including through the use of public-private partnership mechanisms. The agreement provides for cooperation on the creation of a temporary berth, the development of permanent port infrastructure, as well as access roads and supporting infrastructure.

The project envisages the creation of the first line of port infrastructure, which will support the construction and supply of mining enterprises in the area of the port of Nayba, including the future Kyuchus mining and metallurgical complex. At the construction stage of the mining and metallurgical facilities, the annual cargo turnover requirements are more than 30 thousand tonnes. During the operational phase of the complex, this figure could exceed 300 thousand tonnes.

The logistics scheme for supplying Kyuchus also envisages the construction of a 350-km winter road connecting the port of Nayba, the settlement of Ust-Kuyga, and the site of the future mining and metallurgical complex.

In the future, the deep-water port of Nayba could become a logistics hub for the Northern Sea Route to meet the needs of the region's population.
