The Polymetallic Holding Group Seligdar (hereinafter referred to as the "Holding Group" or "Seligdar") took part in the VII Northern Sustainable Development Forum (NSDF), which was held at M.K. Ammosov North-Eastern Federal University.
This year, the forum discussed the development of infrastructure and industrial projects in the Arctic and the regions of the Far East, as well as their impact on the creation of comfortable living conditions in the North.
One such project is the formation of the Kyuchus solid minerals cluster in northern Yakutia, which includes the development of Russia's largest gold deposit, Kyuchus, as well as a number of other facilities related to coal and tin mining.
The development of Kyuchus is a powerful catalyst that creates significant potential for the comprehensive socio-economic development of the Arctic zone of Yakutia. The development of the Kyuchus solid minerals cluster will give a powerful impetus to the development of the Verkhoyanskiy, Ust-Yanskiy and Bulunskiy districts, creating infrastructure and long-term demand for local work, goods and services. It will also have a significant effect on the creation of new jobs and the formation of energy, port and transport infrastructure.
In particular, as early as next year, as part of cooperation between private business and the state, construction is planned to begin on the deep-water port of Nayba – one of the key projects for the development of the republic's Arctic coast, directly linked to the master plan for the Tiksi–Nayba agglomeration. The logistics of supplying Kyuchus also envisages the construction of a 350-km winter road that will connect the port of Nayba, the settlement of Ust-Kuyga and the site of the future MMC.
An agreement on the development of transport infrastructure in northern Yakutia was signed at the recent Eastern Economic Forum with the participation of representatives of the Government of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and the regional Development Corporation.
