The rating agency AK&M has reaffirmed the highest rating for the non-financial reporting of Seligdar Holding Group, awarding it a RESG 1 – the top level of disclosure on sustainable development. The Polymetallic Holding Group receives the highest rating for the second consecutive year.
According to AK&M’s methodology, Seligdar’s 2024 annual report scored 86.8 points, placing it in the highest category. This level is assigned to companies achieving between 85 and 106.4 points.
Seligdar integrates sustainability information within its integrated annual report, embedding ESG themes throughout the text to underline that sustainability goals are among the Group’s top strategic priorities.
The Seligdar’s sustainability strategy is built on the principles of social responsibility, economic efficiency, transparency and environmental stewardship. In line with this strategy, the report focuses strongly on providing safe and decent working conditions for employees. Given the specifics of the mining industry and the extreme climate of the regions where the Group operates, Seligdar devotes special attention to protecting its people and presents comprehensive information on efforts to attract and retain talent.
The environmental section reflects the industry’s particularities and outlines measures to minimise risks associated with the handling of cyanides, expand closed-loop water recycling systems, use waste dumps as secondary deposits of precious metals through reprocessing.
The report is designed in a clear, professional style, with detailed explanations of any sharp indicator fluctuations. It is complemented by photographs of employees at work and atmospheric imagery of northern landscapes. Most statistics are presented in a three-year dynamic series, enhancing transparency.
While noting the high quality and completeness of the report, AK&M recommended that Seligdar further expand disclosures on water use, specifically the quality and destination of discharged water.
The ESG reporting rating was assigned in accordance with the AK&M methodology (in Russian).
AK&M has been assessing ESG reporting since 2020, focusing on the completeness and accessibility of sustainability information. The assessment covers 96 disclosure markers, with the goal of highlighting best practices in social and environmental transparency for the professional community.
