Seligdar was assigned A level ‘Best corporate ESG practice in the Russian Federation’ in the Rating of Sustainable corporate governance

Seligdar PJSC (MOEX: SELG) was assigned A level ‘Best corporate ESG practice in the Russian Federation’ in the Rating of Sustainable corporate governance, designed by the Agency of corporate development Da-Strategiya in partnership with University of Perugia (Italy).

According to the Agency’s estimate, the A level of the Rating qualifies Seligdar as a company that implements a strategic approach to managing ESG aspects, fully manages ESG risks, has a multi-component Board of Directors, extensively involves stakeholders into management, and also has a high level of transparency and a developed corporate culture.

The Rating has been calculated for three years and it aims at development of an instrument to evaluate sustainable corporate governance of Russian companies, useful for making investment decisions and determining direction of corporate development. The Rating is calculated based on weighted average of three blocks: ESG-strategy in place and integration of ESG risks and opportunities into business processes; multi-competent Board of directors and participation of the stakeholders in management; anti-corruption instruments in place. The assessment sources are publicly disclosed companies’ data, firstly, annual and sustainability reports.

The 2022 Rating includes 232 companies, whose securities are traded on the Moscow Exchange. The Rating participants were assigned levels of C, C+, B, B+, A, A+. The A+ group includes 3% of the companies, the A group, 12%. The Seligdar’s level has been improving for the second year in a row: the Company was rated B in 2020, rose to B+ in 2021 and reached A level ‘Best corporate ESG practice in the Russian Federation’ in 2022. Besides Seligdar, the A-level includes Polyus, Polymetal, Rusal, Nornickel, Alrosa, Aeroflot, Sberbank, Vympelcom, Detsky Mir, Magnit and other companies.
