15.12.2022

Seligdar PJSC (MOEX: SELG, hereafter Holding or Seligdar), a Russian gold and tin producer, improved its position in the annual WWF Environmental Transparency Rating for Mining and Metal Companies of Russia, designed by World Wildlife Fund (WWF) in partnership with AKRA Risk Management and the UN Environment Programme (UNEP). The Holding was ranked 16th among 39 participants and jumped two positions higher compared to the 2021 rating. The Seligdar rating score grew by 14%, comprised 1.227, and exceeded by more than 40% the industry average of 0.85.

The rating is calculated for the largest mining and metallurgical companies of Russia and consists of three sections: environmental management, environmental impact and disclosure of information. In the ‘environmental management’ section, Seligdar was ranked 15th, having risen by 1 position compared to last year, in the ‘environmental impact’ section, 16-17th (against 18-20th in the 2021 rating), and in the ‘disclosure of information’ section, 10th, having improved by 10 positions.

Sergey Tatarinov, the Seligdar’s CEO:
‘Seligdar has been a member of the rating since 2019 and has been improving its position for the third year in a row. The high estimate proves that our efforts both in the field of reducing the environmental impact and in the field of increasing information transparency have right focus. This year the Company disclosed non-financial information for 2021 in accordance with the GRI Standards for the first time, what was considered while assigning the rating score for the quality of information disclosure. We pay attention to the assessment of our company and are grateful to WWF Russia for the dedicated work on the development of the rating.’

The WWF Environmental Transparency Rating for Mining and Metal Companies of Russia was launched in 2016. Further information on the 2022 rating results is available on the WWR Russia website.
