Polymetallic Holding Group Seligdar (hereafter referred as “Holding Group” or “Seligdar”) and M.K. Ammosov North-Eastern Federal University (NEFU) signed an agreement on the development of joint educational programmes during the Eastern Economic Forum 2025.
This year, Seligdar is a partner of the 10th anniversary edition of the Forum.
The signing ceremony was attended by Anatoliy Nikolaev, Rector of NEFU, and Sergey Tatarinov, CEO of Seligdar PJSC. The parties agreed to jointly train young specialists in the regions where the Holding Group operates, with a focus on future employment opportunities. Cooperation will be enhanced across key educational areas including Applied Geology, Geological Exploration Technology and Mining Engineering. In addition, both sides plan to advance the development and integration of artificial intelligence technologies into Seligdar’s production and management processes.
Sergey Tatarinov, CEO of Seligdar PJSC, commented:
“Our cooperation with the University is becoming increasingly productive every year. Last year, with Seligdar’s support, NEFU launched the ‘Arctic Quantum’ programme under the federal MIPT ‘Talents into Regions’ initiative. This provided students with access to unique training materials and consultations from highly qualified specialists. Furthermore, we supported the University’s technical modernisation by equipping classrooms with advanced computer technology, significantly enhancing the quality of the learning process.”
Anatoliy Nikolaev, Rector of NEFU, commented:
“The modern challenges facing the mining industry demand a fundamentally new approach to training specialists. This is why our strategic partnership with Seligdar PJSC is built on a strong combination of science and practice. NEFU brings substantial expertise in geology, mining, IT, ecology and economics, while Seligdar contributes unique industry experience, robust production infrastructure and deep insight into current market challenges. Together, these competencies will enable us to prepare a new generation of specialists, capable of addressing the most complex tasks – from digitalisation and operational efficiency to ensuring maximum environmental sustainability. I am confident that the further development of our partnership will open new horizons for both the University and the Company.”
