Seligdar Supports All-Russian Chess Tournament

01.04.2026

The Polymetallic Holding Group Seligdar (hereinafter referred to as the “Holding Group” or “Seligdar”) has traditionally supported the chess tournament for the Cup of the Head of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), which is taking place these days in the Republic. This year, the competition is timed to coincide with the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the chess movement in Yakutia and brings together four tournaments of all-Russian status at three venues: Yakutsk, Oktyomtsy and Nizhniy Bestyakh.

For the first time, alongside the classical stage of the Russian Cup and blitz and rapid tournaments, competitions in solving chess compositions are being held. This year, international grandmasters Igor Lysy, Vadim Zvyagintsev, Natalia Pogonina, as well as international arbiter Mikhail Kryukov, have arrived in the Republic.

Seligdar is a permanent partner of the Chess Federation of Yakutia, providing financial support for a number of initiatives. The cooperation is carried out as part of comprehensive work with the Target Fund for Future Generations of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).

The organisers of the chess competition are the Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sport of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), the Chess Federation of Russia, the Chess Federation of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), the Target Fund for Future Generations of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), the Park of Future Generations and the National Art Museum of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). The tournament for the Cup of the Head of Yakutia will run until 10 April.
