The Polymetallic Holding Group Seligdar (hereinafter referred to as the “Holding Group” or “Seligdar”) has once again supported the social educational programme 'Books as a gift' run by the 'Illustrated Books for Little Blind Children' charitable foundation. The Holding Group funded the purchase of sets of 'Atlas of Illustration Perception' colour illustrated tactile books for the pupils of Kindergarten No. 11 'Podsnezhnik' in Yakutsk.
For many years, the foundation's publications have helped improve tactile perception, touch, fine motor skills, stimulate residual vision, and develop speech, memory, attention and thinking. The books facilitate the full development of children with visual impairments and promote their social adaptation.
Tatyana Tkachuk, Head of Kindergarten No. 11 'Podsnezhnik', Yakutsk:
'We thank Seligdar for its ongoing and timely assistance to children with visual impairments and to disabled children. Thanks to the acquisition of these educational kits, our children can see the beauty of the illustrations and feel the contours of the images. Today, it is very difficult to find partners that can support such initiatives, so this help is especially important.'
Sergey Tatarinov, Chief Executive Officer of Seligdar PJSC:
'Supporting charitable and educational projects is one of the pillars of our social policy. We have been supporting the 'Books as a gift' project for many years. We hope that assistance of this kind will make the educational process for children with special needs easier and more engaging, enabling them to explore the world on an equal footing with their peers.'
