Seligdar and National Broadcasting Company Sakha completed filming of trilogy about Kyuchus

26.11.2024

Polymetallic Holding Group Seligdar (hereinafter referred to as Seligdar or Holding Group) and the National Broadcasting Company ‘Sakha’ completed production of a documentary film trilogy. The trilogy tells the history of gold mining in the Arctic zone of Yakutia, the rich natural resources of the vast region, as well as the truly heroic achievements of people who devoted themselves to the development of polar Yakutia.

Throughout the year, specialists from the TV company filmed in several areas of the region: Aldanskiy, Verkhoyanskiy and Ust-Yanskiy districts. The journalists travelled over 4 thousand kilometres to create video materials. State officials, management of the Holding Group, public figures, journalists, as well as local residents participated in the production of the film.

In addition to using unique archival footage, the shooting for the film trilogy was carried out in remote hard–to-reach locations, such as the polar regions of Yakutia – Verkhoyanskiy and Ust-Yanskiy districts - places where Seligdar is currently preparing to develop one of the Russia’s largest gold deposits – Kyuchus. The film also tells the story of construction in the region of a small nuclear power plant in the Ust-Kuyga settlement, which will not only provide energy for future industrial cluster, but also contribute to the social development of neighbouring areas.

The shooting was timed to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the gold mining industry in Yakutia. You can watch the films both on the TV channel and on social media and video-sharing channels of the TV company: "Origins of gold mining on Yana River" (VK, Rutube, YouTube), "Dawn and sunset of Soviet gold mining on Yana River" (VK, Rutube, YouTube), "Kyuchus - new opportunities" (VK, Rutube, YouTube).
