Seligdar and municipality of Northern Baikal region entered into cooperation agreement

Seligdar PJSC and administration of municipal district of the Northern Baikal region of the Republic of Buryatia signed an agreement on social and economic cooperation up to 2026.

The main directions of cooperation under the agreement are as follows:

  • Design and implementation of social and economic development programmes for the Northern Baikal region;
  • Fostering a favourable investment climate;
  • Development of natural and other resources of the municipal district including joint development and setting up of a modern industrial and social infrastructure;
  • Provision of ecological safety of the municipal district and support of environmental protection activities;
  • Development of scientific and technological, innovative, investment cooperation;
  • Implementation of national projects in the interests of the Northern Baikal region’s residents.

Besides, to safeguard social stability in the municipality of the Northern Baikal region, the Holding plans to create jobs as well as to take part in the education, medicine, culture, physical culture and sports events.

The agreement with the municipality of the Northern Baikal region rests on the long-term cooperation agreement between Seligdar PJSC and the Republic of Buryatia signed two years ago.

“Today, Sininda successfully works and develops its business on the territory of the Northern Baikal region and is one of the largest taxpayers of the region. For 2021, we paid 42.7 million roubles of taxes. We also make significant financial investments in this project bearing in mind the importance of the business for the regional economy. What is of special importance, the number of the Republic of Buryatia’ residents employed at the Holding’s enterprises, comprises 5% of the total employee headcount. Besides, our Company always pays much importance to ecological issues in the regions of its operations. That is why Sininda implements state-of-the-art technology to recover the precious metal with the minimal environmental damage”, noted Seligdar PJSC’s CEO Sergey Tatarinov.
